In recognition of excellence in human resource practices through a nomination by our employees. This was the third time we have won this award.
Top Merit Apprentice Award 2010
This award recognizes outstanding achievement for first, second, third, and fourth period Merit member apprentices. This award recognizes excellence, both on the job and in school, and includes a trophy, recognition at Merit’s Annual General Meeting, and a cash award. This year’s Top 2nd Year Apprentice Award went to Bianca McEwan, one of our Glaziers. This is the third time an Alberta Glass Apprentice has won this award.
Merit-Royal SunAlliance Construction Employee of the Year 2010
This award is presented each year to outstanding field employees nominated by their employers. In addition to being recognized at the Merit Annual General Meeting, these award winners are each presented with a $2000 cash award. Our own Ron MacDonald, Senior Foreman, won this prestigious award. This was the second time one of our staff was honoured with this award.
Alberta Venture Top Contractor for the Year – Finalist
Alberta Glass Company was nominated earlier in the year for the Top Contractor of the Year in the $30 Million to $100 Million dollar annual revenue category as presented by Alberta Venture and Merit Contractors Association. The Contractor Awards profile those companies and individuals whose efforts have stood out in this vital $65 billion industry.

For Alberta Glass as a contractor, promoting Gold Seal Certification showcases our professionalism and commitment to excellence in construction management. We are extremely proud of our present Gold Seal Certified employees and we continue to encourage and support others in their pursuit of this nationally recognized certification.
The Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal Certification Program is a national certification program for construction Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators and Owners. Certification is based on the candidate’s education, experience and their ability to satisfy the rigorous standards of the program. Achieving Gold Seal Certification signifies that these individuals have attained a nationally recognized level of skill and competence in the construction industry. It is a mark of distinction, professionalism and integrity.
